I've been with T.H.U.G.S. Ministries for about five years now and though I was never really a troubled child I still had issues and things that needed to resolved in my own life, the teachings I received and the method in which it was shared, has really helped me become a better person in Christ. I grew up in a family of ten without a father, my mama had no education yet she managed to take care all of us. Six girls and four boys, I'm the fifth oldest, I have two older sisters and brothers, three younger sisters and two younger brothers. Out of ten children, only three graduated from high schoo, and two of us actually went to college. I have succeeded in both, instead of taking all of the great examples of failure and procrastination. I used these examples as a reason to be successful to show everybody that everything that repeat its self is not a curse or trend and that it can be broken.     

Everything around me wasn't always positive, as a matter of fact, most of the experiences and examples I've witnessed were more negative than positive.

As a child I experienced living in an unstable home, moving house to house, because my mama took care of us on her own and she didn't have a job. So sometimes there wasn't enough of money to pay the bills, sometimes there wasn't enough money to feed us; but my mother made it all happen. And through all of her struggles, she never allowed us to see her down, nor did she every give up. She never took us to church, and had never gone to church herself, but she always believed in God; which is where she found her peace and strength. She has always made us pray before we eating and retiring to bed, with much faith and a little knowledge she made sure we knew who God is, according to the little knowledge she possessed.     

Now that I know who God is for myself, I understand why some of the things in life has taken place, simply for experience purposes and growth, to help somebody else when their going through problems in life; when they feel as if no one else understands what they are going through. I can be that person that gives them hope and faith through my past situations. And knowing that God is Love and all of the his abilities that he has, just for him dying on the cross for my sins, for giving me a second chance when he didn't have to, is enough to surrender my life to him. Sometimes it is hard to do the right but at the same time we have a choice and when we put our mind to something there's nothing we won't do to get what we want, but when it comes to God we make exceptions because he doesn't always punish us right away so we take advantage of the situation.
